Last night after figuring out why my mic wasn't functioning this weird looking thing runs up my wall in front of me. It was about 2 inches long from end to end and moving like a man man! It stopped as soon as I started moving and froze in place... until I tried capturing it in a tupperware container. Holy crap it can move! Turns out... it can also jump...some can bioluminesce when stressed out (read: glow)... and bite you. The bite however is generally not something that occurs due to their fangs not being able to penetrate human flesh... but if you did get injected with its venom it would feel like a bee sting and stop hurting after a few hours.

I sat and watched this thing for a long time since it gave me the heeby jeebies when I was about to go to sleep. It sat like a cat and cleaned all of its legs using its mouth... they can put a coating of antifungal residue from there... used to cover their eggs so they don't die.

The past few months or two I have had carpenter ants roaming around my apartment and all of a sudden I started finding the damn things dead on the carpet every where. This lil guy is a predator... a hunter... that kills while you're asleep at night devouring ants, spiders, roaches, silverfish, bedbugs, termites and a load of other "worse" bugs you could have around the house.

Pretty interesting bug... I'm half tempted to let the damn thing back on the wall... but I will probably just put him outside under a rock so he can do some more killing!
