Pain: Cynic Paradise

Music No Comments »

I love pain.  No, don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about physical suffering here.  I'm referring to a band I have mentioned previously.  Their most recent album entitled Cynic Paradise fits perfectly into their discography.

I felt cold chills the first time I listened to the track No One Knows.  And bringing Anette Olzon from one of my other favorite bands, Nightwish, for the track Follow Me is just icing.  Check it out below!

Incredible!  Buy it.  Now!

KMFDM Brimborium (Tohuvabohu Remixed)

I don't know if I ever posted anything about Tohuvabohu to be honest... just know that I think it is awesome. After repeatedly listening to the Tohuvabohu I set out to purchase the remix album Brimborium. Brimborium is the remix album put together by various artists (Angelspit, 16 Volt, Die Krupps) that still maintains the super heavy beat with their own added flavors. I had read some negative reviews for it but after listening to it 20+ times over since purchasing it from iTunes I definitely haven't been let down. This album is totally worth the buy if you're an avid KMFDM fan!!!

Disturbed: Indestructible

Disturbed: IndestructibleI've been following Disturbed ever since their first album (The Sickness). Their latest release entitled Indestructible came out on . I've listened to the album in its entirety about 10 times now since I got my ears on it. So far "Criminal" has to be my favorite song. I definitely give this album a thumbs up for anyone into this band... the sound is smooth, refined and tightened up... I would go as far as to say it is their best album to date. \m/

Statix-X: Cannibal

Life In General No Comments »

Yet another post on music I have recently obtained... the most recent Static-X album Cannibal is pretty awesome to code to. Generally I listen to heavy metal while at my desk in an attempt to blurt out all the annoyances of the office going on around me. This album is right on par with all previous albums that have been produced. It has a semi-techno melodic hard metal sound that is absolutely perfect to listen to while trying to write that tough piece of code you're suffering through. I'd say for now my favorite song is "Behemoth"... it's quick, hard and powerful. \m/

Pain: Psalms of Extinction

I snagged a copy of Pain's newest album entitled Psalms of Extinction recently. I must admit, not all of the songs have the same kind of in your face ego-boosting sound (Shut Your Mouth! off of Dancing with the Dead) as the previous albums, but still I think it is a brilliant album that I am glad to have added to my collection.

Out of the entire track listing, Zombie slam has to be my absolute favorite song on the album... that is, if I had to choose a favorite. Each song has a meaning of its own... and the album as a whole (in my opinion) is trying to give a message that if we don't change the way we are living it will soon be too late. A quote that really sticks in my head from the lyrics of "Does it really matter" is one that a majority of us can surely relate to:

Does it really matter anyway
That we won't get what we're searching for
We slave through life to stay alive
To get a piece of the pie
Does it really matter anyway
That we cannot reach our goals
The more we work, the more we earn
The more we live, the more we burn

With that I will tie up this post... if you are a fan of this band I would definitely suggest this album! If you're not a fan... I'm sure if you listened to them you would become one. :)
